One Direction greets fans before leaving Wellington

After waiting for two days outside the Intercontinental Hotel in Wellington, the One Direction fans were finally rewarded when the boy band came out to see them.

Thousands of girls were students at the door since the arrival of One Direction on Sunday and those who remained were able to catch a glimpse of the band.

The 3 News was the only one with the camera outside when Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson left the hotel lobby toward a van that was waiting for them.

The screams were deafening, hysteria was overwhelming and there were many tears while Directioners saw the heart of his obsession.

No one knows where the band will go next, though rumors say that Queenstown is your next destination.
